Amsterdam-based aluminium semi-products producer Constellium announced today a new partnership with German carmaker Audi AG to supply aluminium automotive body sheets for the new Audi A6.
Building on a long-term partnership with Audi, Constellium supplies the German carmaker with two aluminium alloys designed specifically for the automotive sector. The body sheets are used for both closures and inners part of Audi A6 model. For the doors as well as for the trunk of the new Audi A6, Constellium provides Surfalex® with high surface quality. For the hood, the company supplies Securalex® P6 – a high-tech crash absorption alloy.

The A6 is produced at Audi’s plants in Neckarsulm, Germany and Aurangabad, India. While the model is already available in Europe, the launch for the North American market is scheduled in the coming autumn.
