Strengthening Europe’s aluminium supply chain: FACE at the AEA General Assembly

On Thursday, 13 November 2025, FACE took part in the General Assembly of AEA – Asociación Española del Aluminio y Tratemientos de Superficie, a key event to discuss the future of the aluminium value chain in Europe.

The meeting brought together leading figures from the sector, including Antoine Chacun (Managing Director at ODDO BHF Metals), Gonzalo de Olabarria (Secretary-General of AEA) and Felipe Quintá (President of AEA and Managing Director of Exlabesa).

FACE was represented by Vice-President Alberto Pomari and European Affairs Manager Marco-Antonio Berti, who actively contributed to the dialogue with institutions and major industrial stakeholders.

Key topics discussed:

  • Competitiveness of the European aluminium industry
  • Production outlooks and supply security
  • CBAM, strongly criticised in its current form
  • Innovation and sustainability in construction and architecture

A day of high participation and constructive dialogue, essential to strengthen aluminium’s role as a driver of the green transition and industrial growth in Europe. FACE will continue to firmly advocate for the interests of Europe’s aluminium consumers and transformers, supporting a value chain that is strategic for the future of our continent.
