PRESS RELEASE

FACE: SOLIDARITY WITH THE GULF ALUMINIUM INDUSTRY AND FIRM CONDEMNATION OF ATTACKS ON CIVILIAN INFRASTRUCTURES

At a time of profound uncertainty and rising regional tensions, FACE (Federation of Aluminium Consumers in Europe) wishes to firmly reaffirm its strong ties of friendship and cooperation with its Gulf partners, expressing its deepest solidarity with Emirates Global Aluminium, Aluminium Bahrain and all stakeholders in the region’s aluminium industry, which represent a fundamental pillar of the global market and of our Federation.

“This relationship,” explains Mario Conserva, Secretary General of FACE, “is not only commercial, but rooted in a long-standing collaboration: the Gulf industry has been represented within FACE since our foundation in 1999, 27 years ago, and continues today to be an outstanding counterpart through the Gulf Aluminium Council. Over these years of cooperation, we have built a relationship based on trust and a shared vision—elements that today lead us to stand firmly alongside our colleagues and their communities.”

Beyond the industrial dimension, FACE’s primary concern remains humanitarian: “We express our full solidarity with all civilian populations currently subjected to bombing and violence. We firmly believe that the safety of people must be the absolute priority, and that civilian suffering is an unacceptable cost. It is the duty of this Federation,” continues Conserva, “to clearly state that any targeted attack on civilian facilities and vital infrastructure represents an intolerable violation of humanitarian principles and international law. We strongly reaffirm that all attacks on such structures constitute a war crime and must be unequivocally condemned by the international community. Civilian populations and the infrastructure that provide employment, energy and livelihoods must never, under any circumstances, become targets of war.”

FACE stands united with its Gulf partners, calling for the immediate restoration of safety for both people and the industrial activities they sustain through their daily commitment.
