“A Green Competitiveness Agenda for Europe”. FACE celebrates 25 years
We are glad to announce that we are organizing the Conference “A Green Competitiveness Agenda for Europe” on Thursday, 28 November 2024, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Ara Pacis Augustae, located at Via di Ripetta 180, Rome. The event will include a light lunch and a guided tour of the Ara Pacis monument.
In an international context in turmoil, the goal of turning the European Union into the world’s first sustainable power and the first carbon-neutral continent is more relevant than ever – and aluminium is the ideal material for the green transition.
We must ensure that the cumulative effect of all European public policies and decisions strengthens our competitiveness. Only industrial vitality and prosperity can finance the climate, digital and technological transitions in a healthy way. It is of utmost importance to discuss the analyses and recommendations of the reports by Enrico Letta for the European Council and Mario Draghi for the European Commission. We must consider these two reports as a diptych that together form the fundamental strategic framework for Europe’s political and economic agenda.
This conference on green competitiveness will also be an opportunity to celebrate FACE’s 25th anniversary. The Federation of Aluminium Consumers in Europe has been defending the interests of European downstream independent aluminium processors, end-users and consumers since 1999, constantly striving for an EU green competitiveness agenda geared towards SMEs and the strengthening of the entire aluminium value chain on our continent.
