Italian downstream producers Rafffmetal and Fondital joined the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative as joint-members in the Production and Transformation Class to work towards a more responsible aluminium value chain.
Raffmetal – founded in the Italian province of Brescia in 1979 – is one of the leading manufacturers of aluminium alloys in Italy. The company processes recycled materials and provides aluminium in a liquid state as well as in ingots thanks to its continuous casting system. Raffmetal has three plants and annual capacity of 250,000 tonnes supplying clients globally from a variety of sectors.
Fondital – also located in the Province of Brescia since 1970 – is the world’s first producer of die-cast aluminium radiators. The heating specialist, Fondital manufactures a variety of products from radiators to boilers. The company has over 10 production plants and 3,000 employees.
ASI’s members are grouped into six membership classes: associations, civil society, downstream supporters, general supporters, industrial users, and production and transformation.
