ESTRAL Orders Latest Aluminium Extrusion Press From SMS Group

ESTRAL Spa, an Italian producer of custom-shaped aluminium extruded profiles, signed a contract with SMS group to supply a new extrusion press. The new equipment will be the second press for the Italian aluminium market supplied by SMS group and the first one of the new HybrEx®28 series.

The new generation of HybrEx®28 extrusion press will allow ESTRAL to extrude aluminium billets with a force of 28 MN at the speed of 20 mm per second. The high performance press’s innovative drive concept allows it to use hybrid technology, reducing energy consumption and increasing productivity. Compared to conventional extrusion presses, the HybrEx®28 is an eco-friendly alternative capable of superior performance thanks to more precise positioning.

ESTRAL Spa, a member of FACE, has been projecting, developing and manufacturing a wide range of custom-shaped aluminium extruded profiles for over 40 years at its cutting edge technology plant in Manerbio in Italy’s Lombardy region. In order to ensure a constant supply of raw material the company managed the complete production chain thanks to its direct control of two aluminium sector companies – the industrial DERAL Spa and the commercial ALU-BRIXIA Srl.
