Tenova LOI Thermprocess – a German supplier for furnace plants – signed a contract to supply a large aluminium recycling furnace to the Italian recycling and melting company Fonderie Pandolfo. Tenova LOI will deliver and install its Twin-Chamber Melting Furnace TCF to go into operation at the end of the current year.
Fonderie Pandolfo – part of the Panalco Holding – specialises in the processing of aluminium, principally for extrusions, and currently melts and casts into semi-products around 60,000 tonnes of refined and recycled aluminium. The new equipment will increase the production rate twofold to meet the growing market demand.
The TCF – specifically designed for aluminium scrap recycling – combines pre-treatment and melting in one furnace and has an annual capacity of 65,000 tonnes. The technology used in the furnace also decreases the overall energy consumption to meet European environmental regulations.
“We are glad to continue our long and successful cooperation with Fonderie Pandolfo and its operating team. Our continuous development of processes and equipment received best feedback from our customer”, said Erik Micek, CEO of Tenova.
