Mario Conserva speaks on Rai Radio 1 about US tariffs and their impact on the aluminium industry

The imposition of a 25% tariff on all steel and aluminium imports by the United States is causing serious concern for the European sector. In particular, Italy is a transformer of aluminium, and these measures could have a significant impact on an industry already burdened by import duties on a metal that has not been produced in the country for over 20 years.

Mario Conserva, President of FACE, spoke on Rai Radio 1 GR to emphasise the need to protect the competitiveness of the Italian and European industry in the face of increasingly restrictive trade barriers. FACE continues to defend the interests of the independent downstream transformers, who constitute the vast majority of the EU aluminium industry.
